Reishi: A Superb Meditation Herb
In this article, we're going to talk of how reishi mushroom has helped and improved my ability to meditate.
Now I have been meditating pretty much every day for the last 6 years or so , and I struggled, I really had a tricky time when I initially began, because if you've ever tried to meditate, you know what I'm talking about. You know how difficult it is to sort through the psychological gossip, you know how your intellect just won't stop, it won't slow down.
So then, about the same time that I started meditating, maybe four to six months in, I discovered Chinese tonic herbs, and what particularly struck me about the herbs is they were always employed by meditators, by zen friars, by Buddhist priests, by Taoist immortals, these types of folk who were spending a large amount of time working through the internal world. So when I saw that, I immediately made a thinking about what why these folk have been using these herbs for this long?
And perhaps it can help me, perhaps I can get some benefit as well. So I began to do some research, I began to find out that ginseng does this, goji berry does that, ho shou wu does this, astragalus does that. Then I found reishi mushroom, which was called the “mushroom of immortality,” or “spirit herb,” or the “herb of non secular potency,” “the herb of good fortune.” All these things, all these titles were attributed to this one herb. So I thought, “Hmmm, this is what I am looking for.”
Then I saw and discovered that the reishi mushroom, particularly, has always been favored highly by anybody on a spiritual trail, anybody trying to work through karma, anybody working through internal issues.
Then I began taking it and started consuming on a constant basis, and I noticed immediately that it calmed me down, it calmed my nervous system, and it helped me to meditate much more deeply, much easier, and be in a position to just let go of the attachments and let go of the things that were holding me down, let go of the things that were really clouding the mind.
